Power Up with Diamonds!

Michigan State University Fraunhofer Center are growing diamonds!  Michigan State University in Lansing, Michigan and Fraunhofer Center for Coatings and Diamond Technology of Dresden, Germany funded a $5 million dollar expansion of a diamond growing laboratory  in Lansing, Michigan in 2015. 

Diamonds are being grown in layers using diamond synthesis equipment.  Coatings are also being developed to reduce friction between moving parts.  Diamonds possess many important properties that make them good at distributing heat; poor distribution of heat account for many electronic failures.
